AAMN relies on members, volunteers, and donors to achieve our goals of expanded and improved intercity passenger rail. Working together we can activate riders and inform and influence key decision makers.
Before Amtrak was created in 1971, Minnesotans had a more extensive system of passenger routes and service with multiple frequencies on several routes. All Aboard Minnesota has studied and evaluated these routes, infrastructure needs, and estimated potential ridership. Our priority routes include: Twin Cities to Fargo/Moorhead and Twin Cities to Kansas City. We will continue to promote the Borealis which runs between the Twin Cities and Chicago.
Long distance passenger trains, like the Empire Builder, and shorter distance daily trains, like the Borealis, offer different types of service. Learn about accommodations including baggage, food, snacks, Wi-Fi, bicycle access, and more.
For the price of an airline snack box and beer, you can help further the cause of rail travel across the United States!
